Kristina Jeffers – Volunteer

My name is Kristina Jeffers, and I’m a volunteer with the One Royal Oak Campaign.  I am a returned Peace Corps volunteer, an international development professional, a former Beltway resident, and a mom to two amazing kids.

I am involved in the One Royal Oak campaign because I genuinely believe that LGBT rights are one of the definitive human rights issues of my generation and the generation to follow.  I recognize that I’m lucky to have my own marriage validated by the state, to have my children automatically recognized as my partner’s, and to have the protection of municipal, state, and federal law.  In volunteering on this and other human rights campaigns, I would like to help secure the same advantages and privileges for my LGBT friends and family.
